José Aguiñaga, Ed.D., as a first-generation LatinX college graduate, has been an academic librarian for over 27 years. He is the North branch library coordinator in his current role with Glendale Community College in Arizona. He oversees the daily library operations of this joint-use facility with the campus Information Technology department. Librarians and IT personnel work together and contribute to student success. Additionally, since 2020, he has been teaching Reference and Information Services with the School of Information at San José State University.
